Lessons in Daytime Makeup

Makeup.  How comfortable do you feel about it?  Do you have a good routine or do you feel a little lost?  I feel I have a good routine but I wanted to understand more about it, so I booked an appointment with trained Makeup Expert Anali of Fierce Velvet.  Anali, like me, focuses on the uniqueness of each client’s physical features and personal preferences to create a beautiful look.

We used my unique Color Palette to pick out makeup colors that work with my coloring.  (Click “What Colors Look Good on Me” under the service tab to find your best colors.)  I learned several great tips.  It is a good idea to keep your eyeshadow colors light during the day so that you are the focus-not your makeup.  Pick 1 or 2 colors from your palette.  For a daytime lip pick a color that matches but also enhances your lip color.

I love the look she created for me.  I learned a lot from Anali.  It was good to have an expert who was willing and knowledgable enough to answer all my questions.  When seeking out help in expressing our style it is important to seek out people who are trained in their field.

Here is my daytime look.  It gives a wow factor without focusing too much attention on just my face.

I learned so much during my appointment with Anali!  Three things really stood out:

  1. Olive Eyeliner! I never would have thought about this color but with my warm hazel eyes this was a perfect choice.  This is a good reminder to not be limited to just the neutrals in your palette, try out some of the non traditional colors.
  2. Bronzer- It is important to get a Bronzer that is Flat with Sheen (neither Matte nor Shiny)
  3. Lip liner- When applying lip liner, fill in the whole lip by following the natural directions of your lip lines.  Do not just go back and forth horizontally across your lip

I hope you can take these tips and apply them to your daytime look.  Maybe even consider hiring a trained specialist, like Anali, to learn more.  I can’t wait to hire Anali again for a nighttime look.
